Abstract

Malay society is very strict about traditional marriage rituals . Malay people know it as " Adat bersendikan Syarak and Kitabullah", this research aims to find out how the message of Islam is in the traditional ritual of finding a soul mate in Malay marriages. This research uses a qualitative descriptive method. There are three findings from the results of this research, first, the Islamic message in the traditional ritual of finding a soul mate is the Lita'arofu message, a message that contains the value of respecting and glorifying one's partner, second, it contains a teaching message, which teaches the value of love and affection as taught by the Prophet to his people, third, there is the value of the message of sakinah Mawaddah and Warohmah, and this message is also the goal of marriage that is expected for every couple who enters the gates of the household
